Turn your Pocket PC or Palm device into an affordable barcode reader with the Secure Digital Scan Card (SDSC) 3E is a Series 3 Entry Level barcode reader. This model automatically decodes the most popular barcode symbologies (including UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI/Plessey, and Codabar). You can add other symbologies with SocketScan Symbology selector.
SocketScan enables the creation of prefixes and suffixes to further eliminate keystrokes in the data collection process. This reader uses a Class 1 LED light source that poses no health or safety hazards. The SocketScan software for Windows and Palm converts scanned barcode characters into virtual keystrokes. So any Windows or Palm application treats the characters as though they were typed on a keyboard. SocketScan SDK for both Windows CE and Palm is available.
This reader is supported in Pocket PC devices with SDIO Card slots and Palm and SmartPhone devices running Palm OS. The SDSC3E uses only 57mA of power during scanning to maximize battery life. It gets its power from the hand-held host mobile device.
** IMPORTANT NOTE: All SD Card slots support memory cards, but not all SD Card slots support I/O (input/output) cards. Pocket PC’s must have the SDIO Now! Card services from BSQUARE included in the device firmware. Almost all Pocket PC2003 devices include SDIO Now! Check your Pocket PC product specifications for verification
